In order to find out in detail what Hlavní nádraží means for the public, from May to August 2022 we met with you as part of participatory activities and asked what your relationship is with the territory of the station and what Nový Hlavák should be like. Now we bring you the results of the participation. In total, approximately 800 people took part in the participation process, who formulated the main shortcomings of the current state of the territory and, at the same time, ideas about what the territory should look like in the future and what it should serve.

According to the respondents, the Vrchlické Gardens are primarily a place where people do not spend much time, mainly because of the negative perception of the place, which they say is neglected. At the same time, however, 83% of respondents appreciate the green area in the middle of the city, which suggests that Vrchlické sady has the potential to attract a larger number of people. To make the park more pleasant, 93% of respondents would welcome more benches and other seating options. 89% of people also wish to create an outdoor space for waiting for the train.

Almost all respondents use the departure hall of the Main Railway Station for train or public transport trips, and 38% use the local shops and services offered. The public is looking forward to the creation of a pleasant area for waiting for the train, 94% of those contacted improved the navigation system in the hall, as well as the expansion of the range of services, for example in the form of the establishment of a dining area or the addition of public toilets. The public has high expectations for the roof of the departure hall, which is now used as a parking lot. 91% of respondents would welcome greenery and a quieter zone.

The complete results of participation with the public are part of the procurement documentation of the competitive dialogue and the three finalists work with them in their proposals. Thanks to you, Nový Hlavák will be a better place that will serve not only passengers but also the residents of the station area.
